Omar Corwin Spencer papers, 1940-1951.

This collection includes miscellaneous articles, addresses, correspondence, and other papers, mostly relating to Oregon history and description. Included is the manuscript for the book "The Story of Sauvie's Island," and an address on the history of the battleship "Oregon." A 170-page bound typescript includes letters and journals from three generations of the Spencers from 1862-1951: Israel Spencer, John Alfred Spencer, and Omar Corwin Spencer, Jr., arranged and edited by Omar C. Spencer. An additional volume of papers was added in 1984 relating to the estate of Sarah and William Henry Harrison Morgan, Morgan Holding Company, and the purchase of a farm on Sauvie Island by Omar and Laura Spencer.
